Celebrate National Donut Day June 1, 2012 with a Free Donut from Dunkin' Donuts in Tallahassee

Hey, Tallahassee! Here's one sweet deal for ya and it's a free one. Dunkin' Donuts, America's all-day, everyday stop for coffee, donuts and baked goods, announced it will be honoring National Donut Day, celebrated this year on Friday, June 1, with a sweet deal for donut lovers everywhere.

On June 1, participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide will offer guests a free donut of their choice (while supplies last) with the purchase of any beverage.

National Donut Day, celebrated on the first Friday of June each year, was established in 1938 by the Chicago Salvation Army to honor women who served donuts to soldiers during World War I.

Did You Know?
For more than 60 years, Dunkin' Donuts has been a leader in the donut category, selling 1.9 billion donuts and MUNCHKINS® donut hole treats every day. Within the United States, Dunkin’ Donuts offers more than 70 varieties of donuts, including beloved flavors such as Boston Kreme, Glazed and Chocolate Frosted.

In May, Dunkin' Donuts introduced new donuts inspired by Men In Black 3.  These include the Undercover Black Cocoa Donut, a star shaped yeast donut filled with brownie batter butter creme and topped with chocolate icing and star sprinkles, and the Chocolate Lunarmax Donut, a glazed chocolate cake donut with rich chocolate icing drizzle and star sprinkles.  All Men In Black 3-inspired donuts are available at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide for a limited time.

Drop By Dunkin' Donuts in February for Heart-Shaped Donuts

I stopped by my local Dunkin' Donuts the other day and saw they had a bevy of pretty, heart-shaped donuts. Well, duh! It’s February and Valentine’s Day is around the corner which means the Cupid’s Choice Donut has returned to Dunkin' Donuts. New this year is the Chocolate Heart Donut.

Cupid's Choice is super pretty – the heart-shaped donut is topped with strawberry icing donned with pink, white and red heart-shaped sprinkles and filled with Bavarian Kreme. The Chocolate Heart Donut is a chocolate frosted heart-shaped donut with vanilla buttercreme filling, topped with chocolate chips. Mmm, mmm.

Tallahassee Walking Tour eBook Free on Smashwords until Feb. 1, 2012

The best way I enjoy discovering a city is by foot because you can literally find the nooks and crannies making the heart and soul of a destination. Available on Smashwords is a self-guided Tallahassee walking tour eBook available for 99 cents.

From the LOOK UP, AMERICA! Series, the Look Up, Tallahassee! Walking tour reviews the capital city's history since the 1800s then begins the walking tour at the Old Florida State Capitol.

With easy to follow walking instructions, there are 25 points of interest and the tour ends where it began. Each point of interest contains a historical nugget of information which is great when you need to break the ice at your next networking event or show off your Cliff Clavin-like knowledge.

Look Up, Tallahassee! is written by Doug Geblert who's penned more than 300 walking tours. The guide would be a tad better with a map for people like me – I’m a visual person - but downtown Tallahassee is pretty easy to navigate without one.

Use Look Up, Tallahassee! to find new places to photograph or to educate yourself about Florida’s Capital City. This tour is also found in the book LOOK UP, FLORIDA!

At 99 cents, this self-guided Tallahassee walking tour is an awesome deal.

Here's something special for you, now through February 1, 2012, get Look Up, Tallahassee! FREE by using coupon code  YP37V at www.smashwords.com/books/view/75074.
