If you have children in the third or fourth grade, consider the Museum of Florida History's Tallahassee Doll Camp at the Knott House this summer.
I was never one to play with girly dolls, I had the Bionic Woman and Wonder Woman dolls and played Johnny West with the boys when growing up. But, I'm sure I would have been welcomed
at Tallahassee Doll Camp when I was a wee one. Here are the details:
Dates: June 11 - 15, 2007
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Location: Knott House Museum, use east-side entrance
Participants: Children entering third and fourth grade
Cost: $135 for members; $150 for members
Lunch: Pack a brown bag lunch. Lemonade and cookies will be provided at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Make checks payable to: Friends of the Museums of Florida History.
What to expect at Tallahassee Doll Camp:
Learn what life was like in the 1930s with period clothing, games and music.
Create an outfit for a doll and write a story about the doll's life in Tallahassee.
Ice cream social (!!!) and share the doll's story with parents on the camp's last day.
